The word CREATE has always been a part of my vocabulary. As a child, I knew what I wanted to be and what my passion was. I was always designing, styling, decorating, collecting, painting, drawing, and creating something. It was second nature to me and is to this day.
I have always loved jewelry, especially vintage pieces. You can always find me coordinating a vintage piece within my eclectic style. From this passion comes Vintage Roux: a stunning and unique collection of vintage spoons adorned on handpicked goods and wares.
My inspirations come from many facets in my life. I am originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but have lived in Atlanta, Georgia since 1989. My coastal pieces are inspired by my love of the Gulf Coast. My son has inspired me through playful word usage and creating the objects that I would cherish through time. My parents have inspired me and have always supported my artistic ventures in life. They play a defining role in my daily passion. My father is such a collector and has a love for vintage finds; finding out the history of each piece. My mother has given me an eye for beauty and grace, always looking beyond what is the obvious.
I have a Fine Arts background in Painting and I am a certified Arts Educator, teaching elementary art education for the last 28 years. I love to paint everyday, thrift, comb the beach for shell treasures, drink fancy cocktails, and spend time with friends and family!
